This is an invitation  for you to support us on a journey against breast cancer.

Breast cancer is still the leading cause of death in women 40-55 years of ageBut the good news is that breast cancer can be beaten especially when it is detected early.   As you may know the East Kootenay Foundation for Health has launched the A Clear View – digital mammography campaign to bring a full field digital stereotactic mammography unit to the East Kootenay Regional Hospital.

The current mammography unit is eleven years old and utilizes soon to be out-of-date film technology. The current unit also does not allow minimally invasive image guided biopsy.   The arrival of a new digital stereotactic mammography unit will help the East Kootenay Regional Hospital become a centre of excellence in breast cancer screening and diagnostics.

Like EKFH, I believe that the communities of the East Kootenay should have the best mammography equipment available too. So that is why I urge you to support this Elk Valley fundraiser through your participation or financial support.
I’m a Breast Buddy, Is a ski-boardathon where skiers register for a fee and get pledges based on a total number of ‘runs’ done over a two-day period anytime between January 15 to February 29. Prizes for the highest pledges will be given out during Fernie’s Griz Days.

You’re becoming a Breast Buddy will ensure the overall campaign’s success and encourage other participation throughout the entire East Kootenay region.

The I’m a Breast Buddy event will take place at the beautiful Fernie Alpine Resort, with the majority of the proceeds going to East Kooenay Foundation for Health’s -  A Clear View  ~ digital mammography campaign.

Please join me in supporting one of the most meaningful fundraising campaigns for the East Kootenay Regional Hospital. This is a campaign that will change and save the lives of many. Be a part of the picture… have a Clear View because the ability to triumph begins with you!

Kind regards,
